Will VolumeMax damage my speakers or headphones?
Most volume boosters can damage speakers because they just push audio harder without control. VolumeMax includes a Dynamic Limiter (Dynamic Protection) that actively prevents distortion and clipping before the sound reaches your speakers. This is the main reason we built it differently from generic boosters.
Does VolumeMax cause crackling or distortion at high volume?
The free version gives you raw boost. For clean, distortion-free sound at higher levels, the Pro version uses our Dynamic Compression Engine + Dynamic Limiter. This is specifically designed to avoid the crackling that happens with most other extensions.
Is it safe to use VolumeMax at 1000%?
We don’t recommend going straight to maximum on any booster. Start lower and increase gradually. The Dynamic Protection in Pro helps protect your speakers even at higher settings, but extreme volumes for long periods can still stress hardware.
How is VolumeMax different from other volume boosters that crackle?
Most boosters only increase gain. VolumeMax adds intelligent protection that monitors and limits the signal to prevent clipping and distortion. This is our core differentiator.

Does VolumeMax track my browsing or collect data?
No. All audio processing happens locally on your device using Chrome’s Web Audio API. We only connect to our servers strictly to verify Pro licenses. We do not track what you watch or listen to, and no personal browsing data leaves your computer.
Is VolumeMax safe? Could it contain malware?
VolumeMax only requests the minimum permissions needed to control audio on the active tab (activeTab, tabCapture). It does not have broad access to your tabs or data. We are 100% transparent about what the extension does.
Why do some volume boosters get flagged or have privacy issues?
